Section 199
Adoption, special provision for adoption as adopted daughter

(1) Notwithstanding anything else written in this paragraph, any foreign national of repute who wishes to adopt a minor as per section 191 may submit an application to the Board with the formal recommendation of the head of state, head of government or foreign minister of the country concerned. Explanation: For the purpose of this section "Reputable foreign national" means any of the following persons:-
(a) Foreign Head of State or Government,
(b) Heads of international intergovernmental organizations,
(c) Nobel Laureate,
(d) Individuals or business persons with an annual income of more than three hundred thousand US dollars,
(2) Upon examining the application received under sub-section (1), if it deems it appropriate to allow such a foreign citizen to be adopted as a minor adopted son or adopted daughter according to his request, the board may recommend the same procedure to the Government of Nepal, the Council of Ministers.
(3) If there is a recommendation according to sub-section (2), the Government of Nepal, the Council of Ministers may give approval to such a foreign citizen to adopt a child as an adopted child according to his/her demand.
(4) A foreign citizen who adopts an adopted son or daughter-in-law in accordance with this section shall follow the other provisions written in this paragraph after being accepted as an adopted son or daughter-in-law.
